PROBLEM Broken shelves from inmate abuse.

SOLUTION Many of the facilities we visited had broken shelves on their tray delivery carts. The Food Service Managers explained to us that it’s usually from inmates sitting or standing on the shelves. Upon closer inspection, we realized most carts didn’t have any reinforcement under the shelves. Who ever thought 350 lb guy would sit on it? So our solution was pretty simple, reinforce the front of the shelf with welded, square tube. Reinforced frame, no more broken shelves…problem solved!
