While floor matting may seem self-explanatory, there are many different types of matting for all different purposes. Today we are going to go over the different types of floor mats that can be found within the commercial restaurant, and what they are designed to do.
Service Matting:
These mats are designed to provide traction in wet, cold, or greasy areas, and are ideal for any commercial foodservice application. Service matting can be placed throughout a commercial kitchen, whether it be inside of the walk-in cooler, freezer, or behind the cooking line. Service matting is typically constructed out of durable, non-slip, rubber.
Anti-Fatigue Matting:
This type of matting is designed to provide extra comfort for employees that are required to be on their feet for long periods of time, and can be placed anywhere that comfort and safety is needed. Typically Anti-Fatigue mats have holes throughout the surface to prevent water and debris from building up, and are usually grease-resistant.
Entrance Matting:
These mats give customers a place to wipe their feet off as they enter your facility. Typically, these mats are carpeted, with a vinyl back to prevent the mat from slipping. Entrance matting can be placed throughout high-traffic areas such as entryways, lobbies, and hallways. This helps keep your flooring clean and can help keep them from getting damaged.
