There are many great new faucet options available that an upgrade is easier than you think and can enhance your restroom, handwashing area and kitchen. If you are thinking about changing out a faucet, there are some common dimensions that you need to know to make sure you get the right commercial faucet.

First, you’ll want to know the faucet centers. If your existing faucet has a base with two inlets, one for hot and one for cold, you’ll need to measure the distance from the center of one inlet to the center of the other inlet. This measurement needs to be the same as the spacing of your buildings water lines. If you are mounting a splashmount faucet on a sink that includes a backsplash, the center measurement will also need to fit within the pre-drilled mounting holes on the backsplash. It is common to find faucets that will have 4” centers which means there is a 4” space between the center of the water inlets. Adjustable centers will help with spacing.

If the faucet you are purchasing has flex hoses, you will want to measure the distance between where you are mounting the faucet and the facility water line. You need to be sure that the flex hose is long enough to reach the water source.

Faucet spouts are available in many different lengths and a variety of styles included jointed spouts that can fold out to reach each compartments of a three compartment sink. Check the spout length of the faucet you are considering to be sure that it will fit within the dimensions of your sink so that it is over the bowl and does not over-extend or feel too short. In the case of having a multiple compartment sink, make sure that whatever faucet you use is long enough that it can swing and reach each compartment.

We carry many faucets and sinks from manufacturers like Krowne, T&S Brass and Advance Tabco.
