Countertop buffet warmers come in a variety of styles to allow foodservice operators to find the perfect food warmer to meet their needs. Buffet warmers allow you to safely serve foods at the appropriate temperature. Today we will go over the in’s and out’s of countertop buffet warmers.
When it comes to Portable food warmers, there are three heat methods of heating. The most common method of choice is electric heat. One of the key benefits of electric buffet warmers is that they allow the user to have control over the temperature with thermostatic controls, which allows for a more uniformed method of heating. Whereas when using a standard chafing dish that requires fuel cans, you do not have that functionality.
The second method for heat is the use of chafing fuel cans. Buffet that use fuel cans are typically traditonal round or square chafers. These warmers use canisters that are filled with liquid or gel fuel to produce a flame in order to keep foods warm.
Last but not least, is the use of electric chafer heaters. These heaters can be used in buffet warmers that are made to be used with fuel cans. However, this is not an ideal method of heating when it comes to convenience and portability. This is because electric chafer heaters must be plugged in to operate. Electric chafer heaters are available in sizes similar to chafing fuel canisters, ranging in a variety of sizes depending on your desired coverage. These heaters are a great alternative to electric buffet warmers, as they also give you the ability to control the temperature.
There are several options available when it comes to portable buffet warmers. If your location of choice has a limited power supply, your best option is using traditional chafing fuel cans to heat your buffet warmer.
